What's Your Story?

“You are the main character in the story of yourself.”
~ Eckhart Tolle ~

So, what’s your story?
How is your story working for you?
Are you alive?
Can you feel it?
Most people go through their day by rote …. totally in their heads….. absorbed in their thoughts. They live with their ego and their story.  Their minds are chattering endlessly.  Are you continually thinking of what to do next, what to say next? That is a normal tendency, but when you are in the present moment you give attention to those thoughts and to your body.
When we let go of the ego, and get to know our main character, the real you . . . your mind is quieter and calmer. You notice things you never saw before even though it is the same path you have traveled many times. When you look for the spaces of quietness and calm you become more alive. Your thoughts are more productive, spontaneous and suddenly you realize you have a new way of looking at things.
Get out of playing the game of your life. Do something new and creative and different and challenging. Discover who you really are …… your true essence. Get to know the deeper YOU. Concentrate on your inner body instead of the outer self.
Redirect your thoughts into the aliveness of your body. Live differently!
Sit still for a few minutes every day, and notice the changes. It’s just a matter of taking the time. Make the time. Make it a habit.
What does your body need? Perhaps healthier food, more exercise and energy, more attention. Give your mind, body and spirit the attention it is craving. Give it balance. If you don’t, it’s like living in a huge mansion and only inhabiting one room in the basement.

  1. I love the quote! I only realized it recently, I’d always put myself in the 2nd, 3rd roles, always being in the background, doing things for others. Now I’m learning to be the main character, it’s difficult but I’m trying!

    1. Thanks for your comment Elizabeth. I have realized lately that if you don’t take care of yourself, no one else will because …. they are busy taking care of themselves. I enjoyed checking out your blog as well. Live bold! Live out loud! Live your true story!

  2. This is a fabulous day to be reminded of my story. Had to scramble to get someone to get my son to school… as my truck limped to the auto repair shop (embodied in a cloud of steam)~ *only to find out what would get me back on the road to pick up my sweetie from the airport: *$458.00… Yet~ I have a smile on my face from reading ‘What’s my story’ I feel calm and greatly blessed.

  3. Hear, hear. Simply sitting still. And listening. These acts can be so revealing and guiding. And I know you know this. 🙂
Love the ‘living in the mansion’ analogy, Grace.
Stay well and aligned with your spirit.
