Today’s question: Are you living in an awakened consciousness or an ego consciousness?
So many things happen in our lives where we tend to feel hurt or taken advantage of. This is normal according to our culture and upbringing. Someone says or does something to us that hurts  deeply and immediately we feel anger and rage within us. That is the ego consciousness.
But, what if we, instead, we tapped into our awakened consciousness? In this state we no longer feel the negative emotions. This gives us freedom from suffering and detaches us from the negative ego. This is empowering. This is freedom. This is no longer being the victim but being the victor. The Universe gives us these situations in order for us to grow. If life were always fun and games, no one would grow.
When we tap into our inner feelings, really feel what is going on, we can identify with our ego suffering. The world is suffering from ego poisoning.  When we claim our “Is-ness”, which is the quality of being, life changes. From “Is-ness” we find universal love and forgiveness and freedom.
So next time you feel anger or rage from one of life’s challenges, tap into that feeling, deeply feel it. Question it. Don’t take it personally. When you are on the journey of crystal clarity, you feel and live the whole inner process of re-claiming who you are and resolving the situation or problem becomes an easy process.
So which are you?
Are you living in awakened consciousness or ego consciousness?
Are you the victim or the victor?

That Other Energy

Did you ever encounter someone who gave off negative vibrations when you were around them? We all have experienced this in some way or another. These people leave you with an uneasy feeling, perhaps making your solar plexus tighten, or you feel stress in your neck and shoulders. You feel drained and your energy level is compromised because they exhaust you. Perhaps being in a crowd of people lowers your energy levels and makes you feel uneasy.  You feel depleted when you take on another’s energy or are around negativity. Sensitive people tend to feel these toxic people more when they are around them.
So how do we deal with these feelings?

One of the ways is to breath deeply and center yourself. Breathing is of utmost importance.

Imagine that you are covered in loving, white light shielding you with a protective layer of positive energy.

You may also want to smudge yourself with sage, sing or go for a walk in Nature after you encounter this negativity.

Allow the energy of laughter and love to calm your mind. Think of something funny or an incident that made you smile.

Spend time with a baby or small child. This will always bring delight and joy watching them being present as only a child can do.

Stay in the company of those that you enjoy being around and those who support and nurture you.

Here’s to a positive and joyful day!!

Solstice Sound Bath

Celebrating Solstice

This past week I had the privilege of attending a Sound Bath. I have never been to one, let alone heard of one and what a surprise it was to my being, and the 100+ other like-minds that attended.  Filled to capacity, the air of the Art Center was suddenly permeated  with powerful vibrations from gongs and crystal singing bowls sending healing and calmness from without and within in waves of sound. Lying on mats on the floor, we closed our eyes and let the sounds encircle us, sometimes softly, sometimes loudly, sometimes creating sensations of tingling and chills.  You could feel the vibrations resonating through your body almost like an out of this world experience.  Some describe the Sound Bath as if you were traveling through outer space and into an altered state of consciousness, a feeling of pure bliss and deep inner peace.
Rituals such as this, can give us the experience of connecting to the Universe and tapping into its energy to create the calm we so desperately need in this stressful world. It was a time of tuning into the vibrations of the universe, to calm our being inside and out, and to release that which no longer serves us as we are ushered into the new summer season.  What a wonderful way to start the summer season.
I left the event feeling connected to the Universe, centered and refreshed, not to mention fully present.  But Mother Nature wasn’t finished with me yet.  She treated me to a fabulous Supermoon Rise on the drive way home.  What a perfect way to end the evening of Summer Solstice!

Just a Glass of Water

A psychologist walked around a room while teaching stress management to an audience. As she raised a glass of water, everyone expected they’d be asked the “half empty or half full” question. Instead, with a smile on her face, she inquired: “How heavy is this glass of water?”
Answers called out ranged from 8 oz. to 20 oz. She replied, “The absolute weight doesn’t matter. It depends on how long I hold it. If I hold it for a minute, it’s not a problem. If I hold it for an hour, I’ll have an ache in my arm. If I hold it for a day, my arm will feel numb and paralyzed. In each case, the weight of the glass doesn’t change, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes.”
She continued, “The stresses and worries in life are like that glass of water. Think about them for a while and nothing happens. Think about them a bit longer and they begin to hurt. And if you think about them all day long, you will feel paralyzed – incapable of doing anything.”
It’s important to remember to let go of your stresses. As early in the evening as you can, put all your burdens down. Don’t carry them through the evening and into the night. Remember to put the glass down!

Weekly Photo Challenge: Unique

This “nature” deer is definitely unique.  I have photographed it many times and always laughed to myself at how interestingly it looks like a deer.  The photo was taken in Craig, Alaska, on Prince of Wales Island.  I wonder if any Sitka Black-tails ever noticed it.  It might frighten even a human that came upon it at dusk or in the dark.

The Power of Intention

Intentions are purposeful statement or wish that one means to carry out, determining mentally upon a specific action with a desired end result, an unbroken commitment, a resolution.  Yet, just having “good” intentions is not enough. Sometimes we need a wake up call to provoke action and get our attention, to make that connection to find balance and happiness in our lives.

An intention is something you really, REALLY want to happen.  It’s a dream that hopefully will come true.  We all have them and while we hope that our dreams come true, life presents many obstacles in our pathway.  Yet, the more you dream, or make purposeful intentions, the more likely it will happen.
Make it clear
The key to any intention is to get really clear on what you want.  Most of us don’t even know what we want.  We think we do, but do we really know?  This can take time to sort out the answers.  You have all the answers inside you.

Write them down.  Say them out loud.  Post them on your walls.  Share them with someone. 

They are there waiting to be discovered.  Everything we create or want to create is exactly as it is intended to be.  So if you think that it won’t happen, it won’t.  If you think positive thoughts, the outcome of them will come to fruition.
Positive self-talk
Did you know that  90% of your subconscious mind acts on the thoughts you are thinking and it recognizes your emotions and feelings to determine what will happen in your life?  If you want positive results, an emotional connection with positive words and feelings will bring positive results.  It’s what you say to yourself that directs your life.  If you continually bring up thoughts of negativity, like, “I am just running on an endless treadmill, I am miserable and unhappy”, those are the results you will continue get.  If you aren’t getting the results you want, then change the way you talk to yourself. Your chances of success will soar.
Living life on purpose
From intention, we tangent to purpose.  When you live your life on purpose, with your intentions of service to others, making this planet a better place to live, or doing what you love that supports others for the highest good, the Universe comes back at you in unbelievable ways.
Your life is a container that holds powerful and unimaginable events and circumstances, called vibrational frequencies, that are waiting for you when you change your self-talk egoic needs to “I am here for you”.  Wanting and needing keeps you small.  When you give more, you get more.  It’s just that simple.
Give up your old beliefs
Let’s face it …. we humans don’t come with an instruction manual.  So we have to figure out what tools and information we need to live the life we want to create for ourselves.  Your subconscious may have layers and layers of things like fear (that’s a big one) and pain from previous events in your life.  When your subconscious tells you that you will never succeed, then that’s exactly what will happen.  When you tell yourself that you will never get above the poverty level, then that’s where you will stay. As long as you have limiting beliefs and thought patterns, the same things are going to keep happening to you.  Ask yourself …. “What am I afraid of?”  “What are my limiting beliefs?”
BUT, when you are clear in your intentions and beliefs, your old thoughts become your new beliefs, which in turn become new actions and new habits. You form a new character and your life changes for the better.
So, what is causing doubt in your brain?  What are the feelings that you feel in your body right now? What are your fears? Writing them down helps to sort things out in your mind.
Become aware of the things that are standing in your way of your dreams.  Don’t beat yourself up with the past.  Confront your fears, feel brave and empowered.  Leave the victim you once were behind you.  And, never look back.
When you become aware, really aware, those old beliefs that once held you back, dissolve and you shine with joy, love and creativity.  You then become the beautiful and magnificent creature you intend to be.  You become the creator of your life, not the victim of your past.
Hang in there.
If you are like me, you want things to happen NOW.  But that’s not the way it is, mostly.  There will be challenges that get in our way.  You may feel that your dreams are sealed in a box and can’t get out.  But stick with it.  Be patient.  Stay present.  Never, never give up.  One day you will wake up and the box will be open, shining a ray of light and hope beyond your wildest imagination.
Intention = Attention = Connection = Balance = Happiness
When you are consciously aware, trusting the Universe that where you are is where you are supposed to be, not judging or comparing your progress to others, life happens the way you planned.  Of course, there will be ups and downs, but nothing you can’t handle.  Live every moment in gratitude for what you have right now.  Live in the present moment.  The more you do this, the more positive things will come your way.  Positive expression of your intentions will unfold and beautiful and wonderful things will shine on you.
There is more abundance, success and happiness inside of you than you know.  I challenge you to find it.

Knowing Myself

The more I know myself, the less I am affected by the opinions and thoughts of others.

About the Photo:  Taken in Hollis, Alaska at the Ferry Terminal during a brief moment before the sun began to set.  If you know anything about that area, it rains a lot, like 120 inches per year.  That’s twelve feet!!  So, seeing the sun, and especially at sunset, it a real treat.
