Taking Life for Granted

little_things

Get a life in which you are generous.
And realize that life is the best thing ever,
and that you have no business taking it for granted.

~ Anna Quindlen ~

Are you enjoying the little things in life like a new blossom on a tree or the company of friends or loved ones?
What do you see first when you wake up in the morning?  Do you take a deep breath of fresh air when you walk outside on a beautiful Spring morning?
Look at your life right now and see what you might be taking for granted.
Don’t wait until a catastrophe stops you in your tracks to realize how precious your life is.
In what ways have you been taking YOUR life for granted lately?

Why are you trying so hard?

Why are you trying so hard to fit in, when you were born to stand out?

stand_out

Why are you trying so hard to fit in, when you were born to stand out?

Do you fear being thought of as “strange” if you “stand out”?
Are “different” from others?
Do you look at the world through different eyes?
Do you know your gifts? Are you grateful for them?
You are your greatest gift!
We all spend more time than necessary trying to fit in or blend. It’s the way our culture has programmed us. But consider this …. some people were meant to stand out. However, for many of us, the older we get, the more we don’t care how much we stand out in the crowd because we have finally come to reason with our self-esteem.
Accept who you are even if you are different or stand alone. It doesn’t matter. You are your own person, an individual who has confidence to accept who you are in the face of others who may laugh at you. Let them laugh! Besides, what you think of me …. is none of my business!
You are and have something special, whether you know it or not right now.
Love yourself! Be thankful for your gifts. You are the greatest gift of all!
Live your own life. Stand in your own confidence. Start living your life as if no one is watching.
It’s a beautiful world and it’s all right out there in front of you. Go for it!!

…and once the storm is over, you won’t remember how you made it through, how you managed to survive, you won’t even be sure whether the storm is really over, but one thing is certain… when you come out of the storm, you won’t be the same person who walked in … that is what this storm is all about.

Daily Gratitude

I am thankful for the colors in my life.

Give Thanks Every Day!

Ahhh, Thanksgiving, our holiday to be thankful. Some would think it’s all about having to travel long distances and put up with annoying relatives, gorging ourselves with too much food or watching a marathon of football games then passing out on the couch, snoring with your mouth open. (I can’t tell you how many pictures I have taken of relatives doing just that. )
But why give thanks for only one day? Giving thanks every day is one of the most powerful tools we posses. Look around you and see abundance everywhere, not just in what you have but in Nature and the Universe. Are you thankful for all of it?
color_red_rocks

I am thankful for the beautiful places that surround me.

Studies have shown that giving thanks has many benefits that we don’t even stop to think about. Yet, it actually changes the way we think, changes our moods and makes us healthier.
fun_times

I am thankful and happy for fun times together.

To help be aware of being thankful everyday, keep a daily journal where you write at least three things that you are thankful for. Do it either in the morning when you get up or before you go to bed. When you get up in the morning, before you plant your feet on the floor, think of at least 10 things that you are thankful for. It’s a great way to start the day.
Tell someone you appreciate them every day, even if its your dog or cat. It could even be a stranger who holds the door for you.

I am thankful for the beauty from my garden.

Look at yourself in the mirror. Instead of making sure your hair is looking good or your make up is on right, tell yourself that you are thankful for being you.

I am thankful for the peaceful places that I can visit every day.

This world is pretty messed up right now and needs more gratitude and happiness.Thankfulness makes you feel good as well as those around you.

Happy Thanksgiving today and every day.

The fastest way to attract something . . .

expect

The fastest way to attract something is to simply expect it.

The Universe has everything you need and it is willing to give it to you. All you have to do is ask for it. Manifest it. Expect it!
We get what we pay attention to. If you focus on happiness, that’s what you will get. Focus on the positive, get positive results.
After awhile you will see that things you paid attention to start to show up in your life.
So get rid of the lack mindset and know that everything in the Universe is available to you.
When we understand what truly fulfills us, it will allow us to lead a life of gratitude. It is easy to get wrapped up in material things that we think will fill our emptiness. So, we go out shopping and by something that draws us in. But after a while we find that it no longer brings us contentment.
We then realize that by pampering our inner needs, we find greater satisfaction in life.

  • Today, pamper your inner needs and be thankful for everything you already have.
  • Start a Gratitude Journal to track your thankfulness progress.
  • Before you get out of bed in the morning, take a few deep breaths. Then think of 10 things that you are grateful for.
  • Set an intention for the day to be happy, to be thankful or to be focused on your inner self.
  • Manifest your intentions! Expect it and it will show up in your life.

About the photo:  Someone gave me daffodils. What better way to enjoy them but to put them in my cobalt blue bottles?

Travel theme: Blossom

Be grateful for the people who make you happy . . .
they are the loving gardeners who make your life blossom.
~ Marcel Proust ~

Bougainvillea, such a delicious name,

Magnificent in morning, brilliant in mid-day,

Effervescent and stunning in evening’s golden hour.

Your thorns attack me but your blossoms make me happy.

Casting shadows under the silvery moonlight,

Your loveliness makes me linger in my garden

As I take in your color and repeat your name.

Bougainvillea. Bougainvillea. Bougainvillea.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Layers

sedona3
When everything in our lives is flowing with ease and joy, it’s easy to feel we are living in harmony. But when the complicated layers and gaps come into our lives, we tend to get caught up in our thoughts. We begin to self talk ourselves right into a reactive mode.
That’s when it is time to settle our thoughts and detach from them.

Shift!

There is no such thing as a success or a failure in our lives, only the present moment which, if we are aware, is filled with endless possibilities.
Every day gives us a chance to start over. However, we need to be still for a few moments, breath and find what gifts are here for us to enjoy, savor and experience. These are the gifts of grace and abundance.
Find the gift and connect to the truth.
Clear the space and tap into your resilience and true potential.
What is the universe unveiling for you?

I wonder what he is whispering to his buddy at the dog park?

The Best Part About Owning A Dog:

He always is happy to see me and makes me feel important.
He’s always ready to give me kisses.
He looks into my eyes and is content just being near me.
He always brings his ball back, soggy and wet, and ready to fetch it again.
He turns around three times and always plants his butt near my face.
He starts out in a circle and ends up stretched across the bed, hogging space and all the covers.
He sheds endlessly and my clothes reflect my trademark of dog hair everywhere I go.
He knows when I am sad and comes to comfort me.
He loves me unconditionally.
No wonder it is said that pet owners are healthier and live longer, thanks to our four-legged companions.  I am thankful for all the pets that I have had in my life.
